Hi Friend,
I hope this note finds you well.
Recently, I added quiet reading time to our day. This idea has been on my mind for a very long time, and I just hadn't gotten around to doing it.
Quiet reading time is essential for us to regain energy. It’s a time to allow ourselves to escape the world and enter another world. It is not just for our children but for us too. When we mothers take time out of our day to read, it shows our children the importance of reading. It shows them that we, too, love to read. We are teaching them to love reading by setting a good example.
I accomplish this by having 15 minutes of quiet reading time after lunch. Everyone chooses a book to read and I put on a timer for fifteen minutes. After fifteen minutes, we finish up our reading and move on to a new activity.
It’s a little rough trying to place this new activity into our daily routine, but after a while it’s something we all look forward to.
How do you incorporate reading time into your daily routine?
Your friend,
Mirley
